The cover: what matters, what does not
Originally published September 19, 2026.
The cover does not change how a mattress supports you. It changes how warm you are, how quickly it gets dirty, and how long the corners hold.
What matters
The composition of the knit: cotton and viscose breathe better than pure polyester. A zip on three sides, so you can take the cover off without turning the mattress over. The corner seam — that is where it gives out first. And whether it washes hot or only warm: dust mites do not die in a warm wash.
What does not matter
Infusions: gel, charcoal, copper, aloe. At the quantities used commercially, the measurable effect on temperature is close to zero. They are shelf arguments, not sleep arguments.
What we do
We ask for the composition and the wash temperature on the spec sheet, and we print them on the product page exactly as they were given to us. If a cover cannot be removed, we say so — that is a real drawback, not a detail.
