The Mattress Buying Checklist
A clear comparison begins with a written checklist. Use these questions with any mattress seller, including Somnero. Keep the answers alongside the exact model name and the date you checked them.
1. Write down what matters to you
List the size, surface feel and budget you prefer. Think about how you change position, whether you share the bed and what you would change about your current setup. Separate personal preferences from medical questions that belong with a qualified clinician.
2. Ask for the exact construction
Request a layer-by-layer specification, cover composition, fire-barrier information and care instructions. Ask what each certificate covers and which claims have supporting evidence. A material label is not, on its own, a performance result.
3. Check fit and practical use
Confirm dimensions, weight and the manufacturer's foundation requirements. Measure the room and delivery route. Ask whether adjustable-base use is approved for this exact model and whether any setup steps are required.
4. Compare the complete price
Include the mattress, any required foundation, delivery or setup, applicable taxes and any disclosed recycling charges. Check whether promotions change trial or refund conditions. Do not compare only the largest discount percentage.
5. Read trial and return terms
Find the start of the trial, any waiting period, the deadline to request a return and the condition requirements. Ask who arranges pickup, what the customer pays and when a refund is issued. Save a copy of the terms that apply to your order.
6. Separate warranty from trial
Ask which defects are covered, what documentation is needed, who is responsible for transport and whether any charges change over time. A long warranty headline does not answer these questions.
7. Look for evidence and limits
Check who performed any testing, what was tested, how it was assessed and what remains uncertain. Read both positive and negative customer feedback without treating a rating as proof of personal fit.
